Why did you decide to do an MBA?
Doing the MBA was always in my plan. The main reasons I decided to do an MBA at this time were to gain relevant skills for my next career phase and build a global mindset through exposure to the Canadian and US markets. Additionally, the MBA allows me to develop a global network through the diverse cohort.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
One of the most significant things I’ve learned at Ivey is the power of building relationships and working effectively in a team. With about 90% of learning happening in groups, you quickly adapt to different leadership styles and develop collaboration skills, especially when working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This experience has sharpened my leadership by teaching me to share my opinions, actively listen, and embrace failure as a learning opportunity. At Ivey, I’ve come to understand that failure isn’t the end—it’s what you do with the lessons that truly matters.

So far, my experience has been a journey of discovery. Coming from Nigeria, where I have lived and worked all my life, I have gained deeper insight into the business models of several companies and economic issues through the class discussions. Additionally, working with a team has made the transition smoother and enriching. Ultimately, it has been a fun and exciting experience - one that requires perseverance and daily determination.
