Why did you decide to do an MBA?
For a long time, my world was the one I had built for myself in Uzbekistan, students, classrooms, teachers, daily problems, and the constant pressure of making things work. I loved that world, but at some point I knew I had grown as far as I could by staying comfortable. I chose to do an MBA because I wanted to step into a more demanding environment and see what I was capable of there. I wanted to learn business in a deeper way, challenge the habits I had built, and prepare for a life that was bigger, more global, and more uncertain. In many ways, the MBA was not only a career decision for me. It was a decision to start a new chapter and rebuild myself at a higher level.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The biggest thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how much growth can come from discomfort. I came in with real-world leadership experience, but I also came into a new country, a new classroom culture, and a much more intense learning environment. Ivey has pushed me to speak up more, think faster, and engage with ideas that once felt outside my comfort zone. What I’ve learned is that confidence does not always come first. Sometimes you grow by showing up before you feel fully ready.

More than an MBA — a personal turning point.
