Why did you decide to do an MBA?
My experience in EY India's Business Consulting team, where I served diverse clients including banks, private equity firms, and financial institutions globally, has revealed a crucial need for a holistic understanding of every facet of a business to advise the C-Suite effectively. As a Manager, leading teams of over 10 professionals across engagements in business process re-engineering, digital transformation, risk management, regulatory compliance, and internal controls, I've developed a strong desire to transition into strategic advisory roles, specifically in M&A advisory.
Transitioning to M&A advisory necessitates tackling a wide range of complex challenges, including corporate finance principles, valuation, deal structuring, and negotiation. An MBA provides the ideal platform to develop the necessary expertise. The program's emphasis on case study pedagogy fosters practical application of theoretical knowledge, while experiential learning opportunities and relevant club participation offer valuable real-world simulations. Furthermore, specialized coursework in areas such as investment banking & capital markets and portfolio management directly aligns with my career goals. Finally, interacting with a diverse, often international cohort provides invaluable global exposure, an essential asset in today's interconnected business world.
