Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to pursue an MBA because I had reached a point in my career in public relations where I wanted to pivot more intentionally into marketing, brand strategy, and growth-focused roles. I knew I needed a stronger foundation in business, broader leadership experience, and exposure to different industries and perspectives. An MBA felt like the right opportunity to build those skills, expand my network, and explore new career paths aligned with my long-term goals.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how much growth comes from being pushed outside of your comfort zone. I entered the program looking to broaden my business perspective, but I’ve also gained a much deeper understanding of my own leadership style, strengths, and areas for growth. The experience has challenged me to think more strategically, contribute in new ways, and learn from people with different backgrounds and perspectives. It’s shown me that some of the most meaningful learning happens when you’re willing to lean into discomfort and stay open to new ways of thinking.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey so far has been how much I’ve enjoyed the courses I was initially most nervous about. Coming from an arts and marketing background, I expected classes rooted in math and analytics to feel intimidating, but they’ve become some of my favourite courses and the areas where I feel I’ve grown the most.

Ivey in one word or a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

A challenging, rewarding, and close-knit community.
