Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I've been drawn to Ivey since undergrad, when I first experienced the case method and realized it changed how I think: fewer perfect answers, more thoughtful questions. But I waited. I wanted to earn real experience first so I could contribute meaningfully.
Over the past four years, I built CRM systems and marketing workflows in real estate. I learned how to execute, influence without authority, and work on the fly when plans shifted. But I also hit a ceiling: I was optimizing within smaller environments, and I wanted to design at scale.
The MBA is about acceleration and learning to be nimble under pressure. Ivey's case method (300 cases in one year) trains you to analyze, decide, and defend your thinking in real time. The coaching style and collaborative energy fit how I learn best: discuss, decide, do. I'm here because I believe in this community. Ivey sharpens your judgment, teaches you to think on your feet, and surrounds you with people who have the same drive, positive attitude, and willingness to collaborate. We're resilient, we help each other grow, and we do it together even when we're heading toward completely different industries. That's exactly what I was looking for.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
How to identify different social leadership styles and work towards being an effective communicator.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The exceptional positivity, genuine support and respect for each other's path. We go out of our way to teach each other, regardless of which learning team we are in, and the constructive feedback sessions are amazing!
Ivey in one word or a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!
Transformational, worth it, worthy investment, worth the wait.
