Bachelors Degree
Engineering
Pre-MBA employment industry:
Manufacturing
Why did you decide to do an MBA?
After seven years as a process engineer in industrial manufacturing, I realized that the problems I found most energizing weren't purely technical. They were the ones that required leading people, navigating competing priorities, and making decisions with incomplete information. I wanted to build the business toolkit to match my operational instincts.
The Ivey MBA was a natural fit. The case-based method mirrors the way I have always approached problems by getting into the details, forming a view, and defending it. I came to Ivey to sharpen my thinking, expand my perspective beyond engineering, and position myself for a career where I can tackle complex business challenges across industries.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I have learned at Ivey is that technical expertise alone is not enough. As an engineer, I relied on data and analysis to make my case. At Ivey, I have learned that how you communicate an idea is just as important as the idea itself. Through repeated exposure to presenting in front of peers, I have built the ability to structure my thinking clearly, stay composed under pressure, and communicate with confidence. It is a skill I underestimated before arriving and one I now consider critical to my career.
