Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I've always dreamed of pursuing an MBA, even before I fully understood what the degree entailed. Working across both Indian and Canadian job markets and spanning multiple industries, I gained diverse experiences, but also noticed a gap in how I approached problems compared to peers with MBAs. Their thinking was more structured, with sharper reasoning and stronger foresight into emerging trends. That realization pushed me to step outside my comfort zone and pursue an MBA, and to pivot into a new career path and strengthen my foundation in business and leadership.
My interest in corporate strategy began during my undergraduate years, though I wasn’t sure how to make the transition. Over time, I recognised that roles in corporate strategy or leadership development align well with my strengths and passion for solving complex problems. I’m excited to explore these paths post-MBA.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Ivey has been learning alongside a diverse, accomplished group of peers. The experience has already broadened my thinking and introduced me to incredible classmates, many of whom have become close friends.
Outside the classroom, you’ll usually find me cooking up a storm or enjoying the outdoors (weather permitting!). As a lifelong learner, I’m constantly seeking opportunities to challenge myself, build meaningful relationships, and grow both personally and professionally.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
I've experienced significant personal growth since the program began. As it progresses, I find myself evolving in ways I never imagined; contributing more thoughtfully in class and thinking more critically and creatively than I ever thought possible. The transformative power of the Ivey MBA, both academically and personally, has been very exciting!
