Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA to transition from a specialized role in insurance brokerage into broader management and consulting opportunities. My background in commercial insurance and medical sciences gave me strong analytical, client-facing, and problem-solving skills, but I recognized that to lead at a higher level, I needed to build a stronger foundation in strategy, operations, and finance.
The MBA provides structured learning and experiential opportunities to sharpen these skills while also allowing me to work closely with diverse peers and executives. For me, the Ivey program is especially valuable because of its case-based approach and emphasis on leadership, which are directly aligned with my goal of moving into management consulting.
I chose the Ivey MBA to accelerate my career trajectory, broaden my perspective beyond insurance, and position myself to drive organizational impact and change in dynamic industries.

To me, Ivey has been a transformative experience that blends personal growth, academic challenge, and community. The case method has pushed me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to think critically, speak with confidence, and make decisions in uncertain situations. At the same time, the collaborative environment has taught me as much from my peers as from professors, learning to navigate diverse perspectives, challenge assumptions, and build solutions together.
What really defines Ivey for me is the culture: it’s ambitious yet supportive, competitive yet collaborative. The friendships, networks, and experiences I am building here are not only shaping my career path toward consulting and leadership, but also shaping who I am as a professional and as a person.
