Retail

Why did you decide to do an MBA?

After several years in retail management, I realized my leadership growth had plateaued. I loved the work I was doing, developing people and building culture, but I wanted to pivot into areas like brand, marketing, or supply chain where I could develop new skills and have impact in different ways. Ivey felt like the right fit because of the collaborative community, the case method that pushes you to think strategically every day, and the chance to learn alongside people from incredibly diverse backgrounds. I wanted a place where I could explore what's possible, be challenged to grow, and figure out the kind of work I want to do next.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The case method and the collaborative culture at Ivey taught me that real growth happens when you create space for people to learn together, make mistakes, and figure things out as a team. I've learned to collaborate every day, and to value the process of learning alongside my classmates more than getting to the right answer first. That shift has changed how I think about leadership. It's not about being the smartest person in the room or having all the solutions; it's about building a team where everyone feels safe to contribute, challenge each other's thinking, and grow together.

Ivey in one word or a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Where collaboration is the work, not just the goal.
