Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to do an MBA to pivot in my career and advance my knowledge and leadership skills. After working for 6 years, I wanted the opportunity for more upward mobility and to explore the breadth of options for my future. I don't have a background in business, so the MBA was an incredible opportunity for me to hone business skills while delving into my specific interests.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I've learned at Ivey is how powerful a diverse group of people can be when they work together. This cohort is so varied in terms of culture, experience and professional background, and collaborating with my classmates has been an inspirational experience so far. My peers have pushed me to think bigger and grow as a person. We truly are stronger than the sum of our parts.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA is how quickly and deeply friendships have formed. It can be challenging to make new friends at this age, yet being in this unique, shared experience has fostered meaningful relationships that I know will last a lifetime. It's only been two months, but I already cherish the people and friends I have met.
