Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to do an MBA because I want to accelerate my leadership skills, understand my niche, and explore new regions and ways of working. Ivey feels like the right place to do all three. The program is pushing me to develop as a leader in ways that go beyond technical skills, and the community here is giving me the exposure and connections to understand how business works across different contexts and commit to a direction that genuinely fits who I am. What draws me most is the diversity of people and perspectives in every room, and the energy that comes from being surrounded by people who hold you to a higher standard.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect has been how much I learn from the people around me, not just the curriculum. Coming in, I expected the case method to be intense, and it is. But what I didn't anticipate was how much the diversity of backgrounds in every room would shape the way I think. Every case discussion surfaces a perspective I hadn't considered, and that has pushed me to become a sharper, more open-minded thinker than I expected in this short a time.
