Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA to broaden my perspective, strengthen my leadership and strategic thinking, and prepare myself for larger responsibilities in finance and banking. Through my experience in the industry, I saw how financial institutions can create meaningful social and economic impact by expanding access to capital, supporting entrepreneurship, and helping individuals and businesses grow.
These experiences made me realize that to create lasting and meaningful impact at a larger scale, I needed stronger global exposure, deeper business acumen, and the opportunity to learn from diverse perspectives and experiences. An MBA represents the ideal opportunity to challenge myself, grow personally and professionally, and build the skills needed to become a more effective leader in the financial services industry.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey Business School is how to make decisions in situations where there is no perfect answer. The case-method learning approach constantly pushes you to analyze complex problems, work through ambiguity, and confidently defend your perspective while remaining open to different viewpoints.
Courses like Macroeconomics challenged me to think beyond surface-level explanations and understand how policies, small economic, political, and business factors can influence broader outcomes. At the same time, analytics-focused classes reinforced the importance of keeping solutions clear, precise, and actionable rather than overcomplicating decisions.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect of my journey at Ivey Business School has been the intensity and pace of growth in such a short period of time. The MBA constantly pushes you outside your comfort zone through case discussions, presentations, team projects, and balancing multiple priorities at once.
What has stood out most to me is how quickly this environment changes the way you think and approach challenges, both professionally and personally.
