Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I chose to pursue an MBA because I’m driven to unite my eight years of SaaS innovation in EHS and ESG with the entrepreneurial instincts I absorbed watching my family launch ventures in the hospitality and film sectors. While my engineering background gave me a knack for building scalable tech solutions, I’ve always felt the need to ground that know-how in fundamental business disciplines, such as finance, strategy, marketing, and operations, to create truly transformative impact.

My goal with an MBA is to fuse technical expertise with leadership development, challenging me to tackle complex, real-world problems alongside diverse peers, refine my strategic and critical thinking abilities, and hone my communication and collaboration skills.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how to develop my own leadership style while building a strong foundation in core business disciplines. Coming from a tech background, I knew I had gaps in areas such as finance, operations, and accounting, and this program has helped me start bridging those. At the same time, working through cases and collaborating with peers has shown me that leadership isn’t one-size-fits-all. I’ve become more self-aware, more confident in how I approach decisions, and more intentional in how I communicate and lead within a team.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising part of the journey so far has been how diverse the cohort really is - not just in terms of nationality or profession, but in perspectives, values, and lived experiences. As someone new to Canada, this has been an incredibly enriching part of the program. Learning alongside people who think differently, challenge my assumptions, and bring completely different viewpoints to a case discussion has been both humbling and eye-opening. It’s added a whole new layer to my MBA experience.

Ivey in a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Enriching, Empowering, and Experiential.
