Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I chose to pursue an MBA to challenge myself and grow as both a leader and a strategist. Coming from financial services and wealth management, I knew there were two skills I wanted to strengthen for the next stage of my career in senior leadership: public speaking and decision-making under pressure. The MBA provides the opportunity to practice these every day in a safe yet demanding environment. Additionally, the network of peers and alumni I would gain through this experience would be invaluable.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is the impact of the case method and team-based learning. Rather than only studying theory, we’re placed in the role of decision-makers facing real business challenges. With limited data and a lot of ambiguity, we learn to take a position, back it up with evidence, and engage with diverse perspectives from peers. The team-based projects take this even further by pushing you out of your comfort zone and teaching you how to influence change, present ideas with conviction, and find compromise under tight deadlines.
