Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to pursue an MBA because I see it as the key to accelerating my career growth and achieving both my short-term goal of working for top consulting firms around the world & long-term goal of taking up directorial roles with the strategic divisions of major pharmaceutical companies.

With over four years of experience as a healthcare management consultant, I have developed a strong foundation in problem-solving, project management, and client relationship-building. However, to make a greater impact and to transition into more senior roles, I recognized the need to hone my leadership skills further, polish my strategic thinking, and enhance my business acumen, and that is why I sought an MBA at this stage of my career.

Several professional instances also motivated me to pursue a business degree, which made me realize that while my expertise in research and project management was valuable, a deeper understanding of strategic frameworks and business decision-making would enable me to deliver even more impactful solutions. I also saw the importance of having a broader business perspective when engaging with senior executives.

An MBA would further provide me with the tools to deepen my expertise in areas such as corporate strategy & global business dynamics, which are essential for excelling in top-tier consulting roles. Moreover, the collaborative, case-based learning approach at Ivey would challenge me to think critically, apply practical solutions, and refine my decision-making skills in a real-world context.

Lastly, I believed it would also allow me to expand my professional network, connecting with industry leaders, alumni, and peers with similar interests and ambitions.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant learning for me at Ivey has been the true value of teamwork. I always used to consider myself a team player, but after arriving at Ivey and having been blessed with a wonderful learning team, I realised just how much I still had to learn about teamwork. Also, how each individual in the team can have a major impact on your learning and overall experience during the program, I would certainly take back a much stronger perspective about teamwork and how to work together and persevere through difficult situations.
