Why did you decide to do an MBA?
My goal with the MBA is to grow as a leader while sharpening my business acumen. In the near future, I see myself shaping strategy and innovation within a company, as well as supporting businesses through advisory roles. With an engineering background and years of experience across multiple industries, including founding a digital education company, I realized I needed to complement my hands-on experience with structured business education. I wanted to grow in three career-critical areas: leadership effectiveness, financial fluency, and social innovation. The MBA program gives me a focused environment to deepen these skills, learn from global perspectives, and prepare to drive impact on a larger scale.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
Leadership isn’t only about having answers but about creating space for others to bring theirs. Our MBA class is full of leaders who have carried the weight of responsibility in different forms, yet the environment isn’t intimidating; it’s collaborative. The Ivey MBA has shown me the power of shared insight and collective problem-solving. Here, leading means listening deeply, making room for diverse perspectives, and trusting the strength of the group. That shift has made me a better leader, thinker, and teammate.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
Even with 29+ passports represented in our class, it turns out we all have the same need for coffee! :) On a deeper note, I knew I’d grow professionally and learn a lot, but I didn’t anticipate how much I’d gain just by being around such a diverse and talented group. To my surprise, the biggest growth hasn’t come from doing more, but from listening and letting others shape my perspective.
Ivey in a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!
Ivey has given me the gift of uncomfortable growth, honest reflection, a renewed sense of identity, and resilient optimism. It’s hard to put into words, but this program stretches you - in a good way!
