Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I spent 8 years working in the heart of Analytics, AI, and Machine Learning; developing, building, and deploying data-driven products. That experience gave me a deep technical foundation and the ability to create impactful solutions, but I realized that the next step for me was learning how to drive products at scale, beyond just building them, to shaping their strategy, commercialization, and long-term growth.

Ivey stood out because of its case-based learning, which pushes you to think like a decision-maker and not just a problem-solver. The opportunity to work closely with diverse peers and simulate real-world business decisions was exactly the environment I wanted to build those leadership muscles. I came to Ivey to bridge my technical background with the skills required to lead products and organizations at scale.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how to make decisions with imperfect information. Coming from a technical background, I was used to having data and building models until I was confident in the solution. At Ivey, through the case method, I’ve had to step into a manager’s shoes, weigh trade-offs quickly, and make a call even when the numbers don’t tell the whole story.

That shift from solving for precision to solving for impact has been transformative. It has taught me to be comfortable with ambiguity, trust my judgment, and communicate decisions in a way that brings others along.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising aspect I’ve learned at Ivey is the value of diverse perspectives. Working with classmates from varied demographics, backgrounds, and experiences has challenged my own thinking and pushed me to see problems in new ways. The discussions that come out of this diversity create a very rich learning experience, one that goes far beyond what any textbook or lecture could provide.

Ivey in a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Demanding but eye-opening and fun!
