Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to do an MBA because I wanted to give myself the opportunity for both professional and personal growth. On the professional side, I was excited to open myself up to new career opportunities, whether that’s in consulting, where I can work on a variety of complex business challenges, or in technology, where I can keep building on my background and interest in innovation & analytics. I saw the MBA as a way to gain the skills, exposure, network, and leadership abilities that would help me make this transition.

At the same time, I wanted this experience to be about more than just academics or career acceleration. For me, it was also about investing in myself personally by taking time to reflect on the path I’ve taken and where I want to go next. Just as importantly, this decision was also about pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to meet new people, learn from a diverse group of classmates, and build lifelong friendships along the way. Overall, the MBA was a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only grow professionally, but discover more about who I am and set myself up for success in the long run.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is the importance of speaking up and contributing my perspective. Coming into the program, I sometimes held back my thoughts because I worried they weren’t fully formed or that someone else might have a stronger point. But through the case method, I realized that the value isn’t just in having the ‘perfect’ answer, it’s in being part of the conversation, offering a unique angle, and building on each other’s ideas. Learning to share my thoughts more openly has helped me contribute meaningfully in class discussions, and it’s also made me more confident in my own voice. This is something I know will carry well beyond the classroom.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising part of the Ivey MBA so far has been how chaotic it can feel at times. The pace is intense, with cases, recruiting, and extracurriculars all happening at once, and I quickly realized that time management is essential. What surprised me most was how quickly I had to adapt - prioritizing, staying organized, and learning to let go of perfection when there just isn’t enough time. It’s been challenging, but it’s also taught me resilience and how to make the most of a very hectic environment.
