Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I aspire to be a leader in Canada’s energy future, and my goal is to have a meaningful impact on the energy transition. The energy transition is reinventing the way society produces, stores, and uses the energy that powers our lives. Ivey offers the chance to collaborate with driven classmates and explore new perspectives, aligning perfectly with my goal of leading impactful change in the energy sector.
The Ivey MBA is critical to my future career for three reasons. First, its advanced finance and investing courses and case-based education method will strengthen my investment evaluation and decision-making skills, enhancing my ability to optimize capital allocation and investment returns. Second, the program offers opportunities to develop as a leader, an essential next step as I aim to lead with impact. Finally, the MBA will expand my network through exposure to a diverse cohort of professionals, helping me connect with like-minded individuals committed to transforming industries, fostering both personal and professional growth. What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The support of the cohort has been transformational. Everyone is willing to help one another, and our accomplishments are measured by our ability to support each other and collectively succeed. The diversity of backgrounds across the cohort also results in enriching case discussions, and I continue to learn more from my peers than I ever could have anticipated before starting the program.
