Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA to bridge the gap between my entrepreneurial experience and formal business strategy. After launching my own startup and working with an NGO, I realized that while passion and vision are crucial, scaling impact requires a deeper understanding of finance, operations, and leadership at a strategic level. I wanted to sharpen those skills in a collaborative environment where I could learn from both world-class faculty and peers from diverse backgrounds. The MBA gives me the tools, network, and perspective to grow as a leader and drive meaningful change, whether in my own ventures or within larger organizations.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is the incredible value of diversity, not just in background, but in thought. Coming into the program, I knew I’d be learning from world-class faculty, but I didn’t expect just how much I would learn from my peers. Every case discussion has shown me how people from different industries, cultures, and life experiences approach problems in completely unique ways. Hearing those perspectives has expanded the way I think, challenged my assumptions, and helped me grow both personally and professionally. It’s been a constant reminder that the best solutions often come from collaboration across differences.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey so far has been how quickly deep relationships form in such a fast-paced environment. I expected academic intensity and professional growth, but I didn’t anticipate how supportive and close-knit the Ivey community would feel right from the start. Whether it’s late-night case prep, peer coaching, or casual conversations that turn into lasting friendships, the level of camaraderie and willingness to help one another has genuinely stood out.
