Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue an MBA to strengthen my strategic thinking and leadership skills, building on my 4.5 years of experience across retail and commercial banking in Canada. I wanted to challenge myself in a rigorous, collaborative environment and gain a broader perspective on global business. After attending a one-on-one dinner with a few Ivey alumni, I was completely sold on the idea — their experiences, insights, and authenticity made it clear that this was the right next step. The MBA is also a launchpad for me to pivot into more impactful roles in strategy or consulting.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I’ve learned at Ivey is how to multitask under pressure while still delivering quality outcomes effectively. Balancing daily case prep, group projects, recruiting, and networking has taught me how to prioritize, stay organized, and adapt quickly. It’s pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me develop the kind of focus and resilience that I know will serve me well in any high-stakes professional environment.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey so far has been discovering just how kind, encouraging, and supportive the entire community is. From classmates who genuinely cheer each other on to faculty who go out of their way to offer guidance and support, it’s been incredibly uplifting. I expected a competitive environment, but what I found was a group of people who truly want to see each other succeed, and that’s made all the difference.
