Why did you decide to do an MBA?
After five years specializing in Investor Relations, I had built deep technical expertise in one corner of finance, but I wanted to broaden my strategic and leadership capabilities and develop a more structured, holistic understanding of business. An MBA was the natural way to transition into roles with greater cross-functional impact and to open new career opportunities.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I've learned at Ivey is how to make decisions with confidence under uncertainty. Through the case method, I've come to see that there's rarely one perfect answer. What matters is how rigorously you analyze the problem, how seriously you weigh other perspectives, and how clearly you communicate your recommendation. Learning to listen, adapt, and stay decisive amid that complexity is the skill I'll carry into every challenge ahead.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
What's surprised me most is how much of the real learning happens outside the lecture, through my classmates. I came in expecting the curriculum to be the majority of the experience, but the sharpest insights have come from a cohort with vastly different backgrounds. It has been a eye-opening experience, being surrounded by so much diversity of thought, which has helped me in the way I approach decisions.
