Pre-MBA employment industry:
Healthcare
Why did you decide to do an MBA?
Throughout my career as an OR nurse, I have witnessed the transformative power of compassionate care and the profound impact it has on patients and families. I have also experienced firsthand how strong leadership, strategic decision-making, and a systems approach can drive better outcomes, and where gaps in our healthcare system still exist. I have always been driven to do more, to bridge the gap between frontline patient care and the organizational decisions that shape it. Pursuing an MBA is the critical next step in equipping myself with the business and strategic tools needed to drive meaningful, lasting change in healthcare.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
The most significant thing I have learned at Ivey is the power of collaboration, working alongside classmates from diverse industries and backgrounds has challenged my thinking and pushed me to approach problems in ways I never would have on my own. Ivey has shown me that the best solutions come not from individual expertise, but from the collective strength of a team.
What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?
The most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey has been the depth of the connections you make. I expected to meet smart, driven people, but I didn't expect to find lifelong friends. The bonds formed through long case nights, team challenges, and shared experiences are something I truly didn't anticipate, and they have become one of the most valuable parts of this journey.
