Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to pursue my MBA to expand my business acumen and position myself for a meaningful career pivot. While my previous professional experience at one of the Big 4s gave me a strong foundation, I realized that to grow into a leadership role and explore opportunities like consulting, I needed to build a broader strategic toolkit. An MBA felt like the ideal path to not only gain new skills but also immerse myself in the dynamic, case-based learning environment that challenges real-world thinking. One of the most exciting motivations for me was the chance to learn and network with a highly diverse and accomplished cohort. Engaging with people from different industries, cultures, and perspectives has already contributed greatly to my personal and professional growth, and I view this experience as a transformative step in advancing my long-term goals.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned at Ivey is the transformative power of collaboration in a truly diverse environment. Working closely with classmates from various industries, ranging from finance and healthcare to technology and public policy, and from different parts of the world, has broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of complex business challenges. The case-based, team-oriented approach at Ivey has shown me that while individual talent is important, the real magic happens when diverse minds come together to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and build on each other’s strengths. This environment has not only enhanced my critical thinking and adaptability but also reinforced the value of inclusive teamwork, something I’m committed to carrying forward in my professional life.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

One of the most surprising aspects of the Ivey MBA journey so far has been how much I’ve been able to experience beyond just the academic curriculum, even with such a hectic and fast-paced schedule. Despite the intensity of the program, I’ve found time to take part in club initiatives, case competitions, networking events, and meaningful conversations with peers from all over the world. The environment is incredibly immersive, and while it's challenging, it also pushes you to make the most of every opportunity. I didn’t expect to grow so much personally while juggling so many enriching experiences alongside academics, and that has made the journey even more fulfilling.

Ivey in a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Ivey, to me, has been transformative, introspective, and growth-driven. The experience has challenged me to think critically, lead with empathy, and continuously adapt in a fast-paced environment. From the intensity of case-based learning to the richness of collaborating with a diverse cohort, every day presents an opportunity to learn something new, not just about business, but about myself. It’s a place where you're encouraged to question assumptions, embrace feedback, and develop the mindset needed to lead with impact. More than just an academic journey, Ivey has been a space for personal reinvention, meaningful connections, and stepping boldly into the unknown.
