Why did you decide to do an MBA?
I decided to pursue my MBA because I reached a point in my career where I wanted to intentionally step back from the workforce and dedicate time to investing in my long-term personal and professional growth. I saw it as an opportunity to further develop my leadership abilities, strengthen my strategic thinking, and deepen my overall business acumen so that I could return to the workforce with a broader perspective and greater confidence in leading teams and driving impact.
The Ivey MBA felt like the right next step for me because of its strong emphasis on leadership development and hands-on experiential learning through the case-method approach. I was particularly drawn to how Ivey pushes students to think critically, communicate effectively, and make decisions in dynamic situations; skills that are essential for becoming a strong and adaptable leader. I was also excited by the diversity of the cohort and the opportunity to learn from peers with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. I saw the program as an opportunity not only to strengthen my business foundation, but also to continue growing into a more confident, thoughtful, and impactful leader.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
One of the biggest things I’ve learned at Ivey is how to get comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty. Through the case methodology and class discussions, I’ve realized that you don’t need to have the perfect answer to contribute something valuable. In many cases, speaking up, asking questions, and staying curious (even when you’re not completely sure) leads to better discussions and helps deepen understanding for both yourself and the people around you. It’s made me more confident in navigating unfamiliar situations, thinking critically under pressure, and being open to different perspectives instead of waiting until I feel 100% certain before contributing.
