Pre-MBA employment industry:

Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I chose to pursue an MBA to pivot into a career that aligns more intentionally with the kind of impact I want to have—working at the intersection of strategy, people, and purpose. My previous roles in investment management and social impact communications gave me exposure to both analytical rigor and mission-driven work. But I often found myself wanting to move beyond execution and into shaping broader strategy.
An MBA felt like the right environment to sharpen my decision-making toolkit, deepen my understanding of business from multiple angles, and surround myself with people equally committed to growth and meaningful work. Ivey, in particular, stood out for its case method, tight-knit community, and strong track record in developing well-rounded leaders, which made the decision not just strategic, but deeply personal.
What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?
I’ve learned how to work well with people who think and work very differently from me. Team projects have taught me patience, adaptability, and how to bring out the best in others, even when we don’t always agree.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

What surprised me most was how fast-paced everything is. Between cases, team meetings, and recruiting, things move quickly, and you’re constantly switching gears. It’s pushed me to manage my time better and stay focused.

Ivey in a few words: Please share what your Ivey experience is to you!

Fast-paced. Transformative. Worth it.
