After an exhausting week to India and back, I wanted to update everyone on the trip. First and foremost, I’m still shocked and deeply saddened by the recent events in Mumbai – it is a terrible tragedy for the country and has affected the entire world. I hadn’t been to India since the World MBA Tour in 2005 and was looking forward to going back, and can only hope the situation stabilizes soon.
In the meantime,

QS has cancelled the MBA Tour in India (as many of you know the Mumbai portion of the Fair was booked at the Taj scheduled for last weekend) but Ivey is very committed to connecting with prospective candidates interested in the School. We have already reached out to re-schedule interviews and appointments that were confirmed with candidates and the team will be spending plenty of time on the phone over the next few weeks conducting admissions interviews to ensure we can issues decisions in a timely manner. Of course there are many potential Ivey students thinking about applying in 2009 or 2010 that I wasn’t able to meet, and I wanted to highlight some of the additional opportunities to learn more about the Program and interact with our team, and with our students.

1) Resume Assessment – this is a great tool enabling candidates to get some feedback on their eligibility to apply to Ivey and you can find the resume assessment button right on the MBA homepage: www.ivey.ca/mba

2) Student Blog – A student run blog site reflecting on their Ivey experience offering insight into what it’s really like to be at Ivey! http://iveymbastudents.blogspot.com/

3) Student Ambassadors – You can email our current student ambassador team directly with questions you have that would be best answered by someone currently in the MBA Program at Ivey at this email address: student.ambassadors@ivey.ca – a great opportunity to connect directly with our current class.

We are always happy to help with any questions, so don’t hesitate to email or phone the team with any questions. I appreciate how difficult it is, particularly as an international student, to really get a strong sense of the culture of a school, student life, etc. and hope these tools will help showcase what Ivey offers and what makes us a truly world class MBA Program.
