Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I decided to pursue my MBA to broaden my professional toolkit and sharpen my business acumen. I come from a media background, so everything I knew about business prior to Ivey I learned at work. I decided to pursue a formal business education to ensure that I have all the necessary managerial skills to continue to add value to organizations as I progress in my career.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

The most significant thing I've learned at Ivey is the immense value of teamwork, especially the strength of diverse teams. Working with a unique group of individuals heightens the collective strength of any team, and creates a deeper learning experience for everyone involved. At Ivey, a significant portion of our learning is done in teams, which has given us all the opportunity to hone our collaborative skills and get to continuously see first-hand the value of diverse perspectives.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

The most surprising aspect of my Ivey MBA journey has been the unrelenting generosity and selflessness that I've experienced within the cohort. The readiness of my classmates to lend a helping hand, tutor one another, and support each other beyond our academic life makes this a remarkably unique and collective MBA journey.

How do you manage stress (i.e. sports, exercise, meditation etc.)?

To manage stress, I love getting out and doing fun activities with my classmates. Whether it be trying a new sport grabbing drinks, or watching a movie, I always look forward to decompressing alongside the friends I've made in this program.

Any additional info you might want to share (interesting facts, special hobbies etc.)

Despite my fear of heights, I took up indoor rock climbing this year with the encouragement of some classmates. My parents always told me to do one thing a day that scares you; they didn't say it couldn't be the same thing again and again!
