Why did you decide to do an MBA?

I spent majority of my education and working time as an engineer in the energy and mining industries. While the tangible benefits of process improvement projects had been rewarding, I had limited view of the overall business. An MBA would allow me to round up my experience with business foundations. The case-based teaching style and smaller cohort at Ivey had been particularly attractive when I was narrowing down my options.

What is the most significant thing you've learned at Ivey?

Always welcome new opportunities- there are a ton of events, including educational, social, and volunteer work, at Ivey. While it's quite a stretch to participate in everything, I believe that not closing the doors entirely to most opportunities had allowed me to learn more about experiences I would have never had the chance to know otherwise.

What's been the most surprising aspect of the Ivey MBA journey to date?

It's been busy, but a ton of fun! Everyone has been incredibly collaborative and is always willing to lend a helping hand whether this involves classes, recruitment, or social events.

What books are on your bedside table AND/OR what podcast are you listing to right now?

10-Minute Mindfulness

How do you manage stress (i.e. sports, exercise, meditation etc.)?

Running, hiking, lifting, trying out new hobbies with friends
