It doesn’t take much time of hanging out at Spencer to see that the MBA class is a pretty close knit group. But every once in a while that fact can still surprise you.
A couple weeks ago, myself and a group of a few other Ivey MBAs and one member of the Ivey Circle organized a fundraising concert, with all proceeds going to Step By Step Africa. The night was a great success. We raised about $1300, which goes an awfully long way when spending it in northern Ghana where the costs are much lower than we are used to.

But what really amazed me about that night was the level of support we received from our fellow classmates. The show turned out to be really put on by Ivey students, for Ivey students. Both of our performers, Pat Giles and Jordan Mitchell, are current MBA students, and I should add that they are both extremely talented. The whole organizing committee were MBA students or members of the Ivey Circle and almost the entire crowd was MBA students and their partners as well. It is one thing for people to say that we always support each other, but we sold about 120 tickets to people that were willing to step up and really show their support.
