Ivey’s MBA program offers a supportive, collaborative environment where everyone can thrive. We provide tailored resources to help students—especially those with families—settle into life in London. Through initiatives like Women in Management, Forté, and Pass the Glass, we foster a strong community for women, empowering them with connections, support, and opportunities throughout their MBA journey and beyond.
Timing
There is no right timing. Generally speaking, women tend to discount themselves and self-select out. At Ivey Business School, we encourage women to recognize their skills and prioritize their career goals. For those with families, we realize it can feel overwhelming to displace your loved ones for a one-year MBA in London. We offer plenty of support to help with the transition.

Forté Foundation
As a partner school of the Forté Foundation, Ivey provides a limited number of fellowships to women who demonstrate leadership qualities. Pass the Glass (PTG) is an initiative led by women in the MBA program, who aim to deliver support to incoming MBA women. The Pass the Glass support system provides opportunity for women to build networks and relationships, and help one another navigate the pre-program and in-program experience.

When I started my full-time MBA, I knew it would be an intense year, but I didn’t anticipate just how much I’d take on. In July 2024, as the core term was wrapping up, I got married. It was a beautiful but chaotic moment during one of the busiest academic periods of my life. By the fall, I was pregnant, and life shifted in ways I hadn’t expected during my MBA. The late nights out at Joe Kool’s with my classmates – celebrating finishing exams or 24-hour reports, and bonding over shared challenges – quickly turned into early nights in, trying to keep up while battling all-day sickness.
Then came the bigger question: What’s next? With a career in construction, I began wondering when I would return to work and what my job would look like with a child. Would I step back? Can you still use a port-a-potty postpartum? Could I still take on leadership roles? The uncertainty was overwhelming at times.
