MSc International Business 2018
MSc '18, Ivey Business School
Briefly, describe your background and profile. Think about how Ivey is/will complement your own personal background and experience.
I have both international work and study experience from my internship in Bangalore, India and my one-year exchange in Guadalajara, Mexico. I have a wide variety of work experience ranging from government and law enforcement to non-profit and marketing. My aim is to work in the international business field, specifically for the United Nations. Ivey will help me reach my goal by allowing me access to a strong academic education and real-life work experience.
What are your plans after Ivey? What do you hope to achieve by graduation?
After Ivey I hope to work in the government sector, and eventually for the United Nations. I want to continue to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. I hope to achieve this by helping to establish a strong business sector in developing countries. By graduation, I hope to have built a network that can assist me in my journey.
How is your story different from that of your classmates? What perspective do you bring to the class?
What makes my story stand out is my vast travel history as well as the uniqueness of my undergraduate degree. I had the opportunity to concentrate on international marketing and trade, which is a fast-growing sector in today's economy. I also have work experience in a variety of fields. I bring an international perspective specifically in the trade and non-profit sector.
What advice would you give to prospective students considering Ivey?
I would tell them to prepare themselves for challenges that will help them grow both intellectually and emotionally. The Ivey MSc program gives you the tools and opportunity to grow as an international leader — take them and accomplish your dreams.
Describe a moment you’ve experienced inside or outside the classroom at Ivey that you will never forget.
The one moment from my MSc experience that I will not forget is the first day of my IGL placement. Being given a challenge with a time frame of ten weeks was both scary and exciting. I love a challenge and am excited to see what the world has in store for me.
